Lawn fawn grab bag

You've probably guessed with Christmas and other things happening, crafting has taken a back seat. So, instead of showing you what I've made (which is nothing), I'll show you the contents of the lawn fawn grab bag I got. They do this once a year, on giving Tuesday, and this year I decided to treat myself. It arrived christmas eve, so early present from me to me.  Three paper pads. I've never had lawn fawn paper pads before, but I'm looking forward to using them. They're very good quality. A bunting stencil. Will be very good for backgrounds once I get my ink pads back out of storage.  Kangariffic stamps, with the add ons, and both with the matching dies!  Porcupine stamps, again with the matching dies.  Carrot stamps.... 🥕 Two notebooks. Never say no to a notebook! A narwhal stamp.  A unicorn stamp, again with matching dies. Quite similar to a stamp set I already have, but not identical.  The free stamp. Be nice to put this on an envelope.  Washi tape...

Learning

I said last week I was going to start to learn jewellery making, and this was day one of the totally beads christmas tutorials.  Not bad for a first try! The hardest part was tying it up, but I have now learned where I've made mistakes in the past.  Here's the update on the stitch.  Still looks like nothing at the bottom! Until next time Ems

I'm in chains

Made a bracelet this week, trying to use pearls and chains together.  I'm hoping to improve my jewellery making next year, so I've signed up to some classes. Fingers crossed! I've been working on the stitch. Here's the update Still so much of it doesn't create a picture! Especially the bottom right.  Until next time Ems

The son of man

So, another male card to do, and this time I decided to try and get inspiration from a painting, specifically the son of man painting by rene magritte. For those of you who don't know, it's a painting of a man in a suit and bowler hat with an apple obscuring much of his face. As its a birthday card, I used a present instead of an apple.  I think it would have been better if I'd laid it out with happy above and birthday below.  I've been working on the stitch, almost 45% done now.  Don't ask me why I took a crooked picture! Until next time Ems

Woodn't you know

I've made another card this week, for someone who is a rower. I've not really got anything that translates directly to that, so instead I went with a sailing theme, using stamps from my stash, lawn fawn oliver abc dies and tim holtz colorize woodgrain.  I've also been working on the stitch.   Still a long way to go before we see anything clearly.  Until next time Ems

I want my craft stash back!

I was gonna title this post, I want my stash back, but then I realised how that sounded! Suffice it to say, I'm fed up with most of my stuff being in boxes now.  I've been working on the stitch, 42% done now.  I've also made a card for my old flatmate and friend from uni.  These were christmas stamps, but I decided to repurpose them for birthday stamps. Of course, she knows I'm christmas obsessed, used to tell me off for singing jingle bells before her birthday! Until next time Ems

Milestone birthday

Not mine, but an uncle, who turned 60 this week. I made a card using some tim holtz dies. I quite like the colours I used for the skull, gives him an aged quality.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the latest update  Still looks a bit of a mess at the bottom with no discernible images, but it'd getting closer to what it should be with every stitch.  Until next time Ems

From another point of view

Made a pair of earrings this week. When it came to taking a pic, they were horrible when I had them laid down. Then I realised, earrings are supposed to dangle! Ended up hanging them on the radiator to get a decent pic.  I've also worked on the stitch. Had a few days off from it this week for various reasons, so progress was a little slow. Until next time Ems

🐢

Made a couple of bracelets this week, using hematite donut beads, circular beads, and rondelle beads.  I've also been working on the stitch.  At least there's progress in the middle. Until next time Ems

Look at the stars...

Quick one this week. I've made a pair of earrings, using teardrop beads and star connector charms.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here is the update  It's getting there! Until next time Ems

Chips

Not those delicious potato products but gemstone chips. I've made a necklace this week using gemstone chips, seed beads and pearls.  I've also made some simple necklaces, using gold chain, connector charms and teardrop beads.  Here is the update on the stitch. 35% done now.  Until next time Ems

Love is all around

It was my brother and sister in laws anniversary this week, so I made a card using lawn fawn stamps, and a stamp I got in a magazine years ago.  I've also been working on the stitch. I'm still doing that big bit in the middle because it's block stitching, although with the rubbish winter light, its difficult.  Until next time Ems

Mix and match

Still limited to my crafting stash at the moment, so I decided to mix and match two tonic dies to make a card. Here is the result  I think the fairies fit in there quite well. You could always do a starry background and make it so they are looking out of a window as well.  Been working on the stitch as well. Block stitching at the moment, which is particularly boring but it gets a nice amount done quite quickly cos you're not having to figure out where the next stitch needs to go. 33% down now Until next time Ems

Drawering a crowd

So, this week I've done something a little different. This is before... This is after.... Obviously there's two of them! These are my mums bedside drawers, which are over 30 years old and now have a new lease of life.  I've also been working on the stitch. 31% down now. Until next time Ems

Ive got my bead-y eye on you

Yes, more jewellery this week. I've made a couple of simple bracelets this week.  I've also been working on the stitch, 30% down, 70% to go.  Until next time Ems
