New challenge

I've not given up my new years resolutions, although I cant see me completing all of them successfully. However, due to only just barely scraping my 20% savings target, I felt the need to do a spending ban for june. To be fair, my most expensive spends over the last couple of months have been for the house, and to replace my broken phone, but theres still unnecessary spending (like craft mystery bags!) That i can do without for a month. Anyways, onto the crafting. I've not really felt inclined this week, but i did make two necklaces, trying to use up my bead stash a little. As you can see, I have a lot of green and white beads thanks to the grab bags beads direct used to do. They don't do them anymore. I miss that, but at least it means my stash isnt increasing exponentially.  I've been back working on the stitch.  I got four crafters companion mystery boxes this week. (Sorry no photos) I was a bit disappointed with some of them, but that's

Atcs

Atcs are small pieces of art that you trade. I've seen them around for a while, but never made any before. I was digging through my craft stash (off note I've spent on craft in a major way this week so slap my hand!) And found little pieces of card that would be perfect. I used three graphic 45 paper pads and some flowers. I've also been back to working on the winter village stitch. Theres been a little progress at least.  Finally, here are the random photos of this week.  Until next time Ems

Brush away the cobwebs.

I had a week off this week, so sorted out my room. I was overwhelmed by the amount of craft stuff I have, to the point of tears strangely. So I've got to put a limit on what i buy. I have also been painting, which led to a dried up brush i had forgotten about. Time to do my first altered brush! I started off by painting it white, adding crackle paste through a stencil, then spraying with lindys sprays. I then added some chipboard pieces that had also been sprayed, some that had been embossed with silver powder, some flowers, art stones and sequins. Pink's not usually a colour I work with but it looks good! I have also been stitching. I took a break from the winter village stitch to do something else. Here are the updates.  Finally, here are the random photos of this week.  Until next time Ems

How are we a third of the way through may already?

Well? Anyone know? This year is going surprisingly quickly, considering how days can seem so long. I'm on a week off now and was going to do some DIY, but I've missed the boat and everywhere is on hold for paint deliveries. Anyway, at least I've got plenty of craft stuff to do. I've sorted out my room and reorganised some stuff, making me realise just how much I have. Whether that stops me buying more stuff? I don't know. I've finally finished page one of the stitch. The strange thing is, even though I marked the halfway point according to the chart, it looks like it wasnt accurate. Thankfully theres enough room on the left hand side, but only just.  I also finished the second victoriana box I had. I glued various resin pieces onto the box before painting it red on the outside and black on the inside. I then coloured the resin pieces with silver or gold wax, and added a few more pieces on the lid and the inside.  One non

New month, same advice.

That advice is of course to stay at home. The rate is going down, but we are not out of the woods yet, and a second wave would be devastating. You may think it's not that bad, you may not know of anyone who has had it, and you may not know of anyone who has died of it. But think how you would feel if you did, just because we became complacent. Anyway, onto the crafting. Heres the update on the stitch. I've also made a grand total of 40 cards this week, finishing my target of 100.  I decided to try a more masculine card. I embossed black card and used silver wax on it. Then I cut out a porthole from greyboard, using oxide sprays on it and adding a photo to the back. Then I added some gold gears.  This was a mixed media thinlit die, embossing folder, and crochet die to hide the join.  This was one I've used before, but utilising the drop part of it by adding gold drops.  This was woodgrain cardstock, a dirty cut frame, tonic banner with blu
