Puns

I love puns, so when I saw the toast die in the spellbinders advent calendar, I couldn't resist.  Simple but effective.  I have also been working on the stitch.  I have decided not to stitch the white now, so that'll save me about two months of stitching.  I am aware I promised a bigger project, but its not done yet.  until next time Ems

bracelets

Quick one this week. I haven't finished my bigger piece, so I have made a couple of bracelets.  Here is the update on the stitch.  Still loads to go! until next time Ems

Spellbinders advent calendar

No, im not talking about the dreaded c word, even i know its too early for that! I got 2 spellbinders advent calendars last year (2024 and 2025) so I have been trying to use what I received. I actually preferred these to the lawn fawn grab bags last year, so if im gonna have to choose between then this year, I'll be picking the calendar.  This week I have made a birthday card, sticking to a simple but elegant design. I also used tonic drops.  Here is the stitch update. I have been contemplating not  doing the white border, because it didn't really make a difference to the mummy stitch, and it would save me about two months of stitching until I can start on the next one.  Until next time Ems

mix and match

I saw a great card made using the spellbinders advent calendar, so decided to add a tim holt window to add my own spin to it.  if you can see Animal from the muppets in the background, it was the only brick wall paper i had! heres the update on the stitch. massive shortfall of 1800 stitches on this colour.  until next time ems

Honk honk!

One of the things in my lawn fawn box was a geese stamp set. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but im trying to use everything ive got rather than buy new things, so I thought i would give it a go. I saw the semtiment honk if its your birthday, so decided to use that two-fold. I used a tim holtz christmas die to make a car, then added the geese as the occupants. i had to do the car backwards because of the way the geese face. the background trees are also a tim holtz die. I've also been working on the stitch.  until next time Ems

shift into gear

I bought some deep set frames from Facebook marketplace a while ago. I bought the set to make those viral ikea mini funko frames, but it came with some other sizes, so I utilised them this week. I have a lot of resin pieces in my stash, so I chose some for the focal points, then die cut cogs out of foam, to tie the three together. I painted them black and added wax, then added a few blue flowers as a pop of colour.  already put up on my wall!  I have also been working on the stitch. You can see little pieces are complete.  Until next time Ems

evenstar

I am in the middle of some projects so can't show them, but I have made a few pieces of jewellery this week.  This is made with some spacer beads and a magnetic clasp.  I got this evenstar pendant in a kit ages ago, and thought it lent well to purple beads.  Here is the update on the stitch. Until next time Ems

mum

It's mother's day, which means it's card time! This was made using a spellbinders umbrella die, and some paper in my stash.  I have also been working on the stitch.  Almost 40% finished now.  Until next time  Ems

Stars abound

I have made a few things this week. Firstly, here's is the update on the stitch.  There is actually more progress on the top half, but this is where I am working on at the moment, so this is what youre seeing! I have also made a vintage star. I went for wooden pieces coloured with paint pens this time, rather than resin, and no sentiments. I also made a necklace, making the chain myself, and added various beads.  I have also made a birthday card for my mum, who turns 70 this month. I used the roller skates from the spellbinders advent calendar, because she used to have a pair years ago. I tried to recreate the colours as best I could.  until next time Ems

Vintage heart

Didn't do as much crafting as I wanted to this week, but there's no point pushing it. I have done a few things. First, here is the stitch update.  I also got some new chameleon powders for my birthday, so I tested them out.  The blue is definitely my favourite. I need to try to paint them on the moulds then used black resin, because that apparently really makes them pop. I have also made a mixed media piece, using lace, resin moulds, vintage pictures and some jewels.  Until next time Ems

i can buy myself flowers

Quick one this week. I am in the middle of making something else, but I don't want to post it till it's complete.  First, here is the stitch update.  I am definitely going to run out of this colour as well. It says I am currently 35% through, but I will run out of the white surrounding the piece, so I may make this smaller to compensate. It didn't add too much to the mummy stitch.  I have also made a couple of matching bracelets (complimentary actually cos they run in opposite directions.) Until next time Ems

seasons change

Made a few things recently. Firstly, here's the stitch.  Look, Ludo is coming along nicely, as are the door knockers.  I have also made a pair of earrings, using beads and spacers.  I have also made some pieces based on the seasons. Yes, they are in coffins, don't ask! I painted and stencilled the outside, then used dies on one side inside, and coloured some flowers for the other side. I had to use leaves, snowflakes and suns on the sides to hide where the inner die ended.  until next time Ems

luck of the irish

Someone at work is leaving, so I made them a good luck card, using dies and sequins from the spellbinders advent calendar, card from my stash, and tonic studios dream drops.  I have also been working on the stitch. Almost a third of the way through now.  I also tried a new (to me) technique. Wire wrapping. It is not easy, but I made a pair of earrings.  Until next time Ems

a banner birthday

I got a lot of dies for Christmas, thanks to the lawn fawn grab bag and the spellbinders advent calendar, so im trying to use them. This week, I made a birthday card using lawn fawn banner dies and let's celebrate sentiment stamp, with a tim holtz dies in the background.  I also made a pair of earrings. Purple seems to be the theme this week.  I have also been working on the stitch, and finally had a colour i did not run out of.  Until next time Ems

Baby card

Someone i know had a little girl this week, so I made a card. I used the clouds from the lawn fawn platform pop up add on, and a stamp and bow die from my stash, as well as a tim holtz alphabet die set.  Here is the stitch update. I wish I was quicker because I have two more I want to get started on! Until next time Ems

earrings

just made something simple this week, as I wasn't feeling particularly creative.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the latest update  Another colour I am pretty sure I will run out of. good thing I have my stash. until next time ems
