Bubbles

Just a short post this week. I was working on a bigger piece but I lost my creative mojo again so that's on hold. This is what I've made this week. I tried to make it look like little bubbles were coming out of the dishes mouth, by using small white and silver beads I've had a load of these pieces in my stash for a while. I was going to try and make a necklace with them, then saw an earring post on pinterest which inspired this.  Heres the update on the stitch. Theres been some good progress this week.  Until next time Ems

As you can tell, I'm not feeling particularly creative today. I have been making a few things. Here is the progress on the stitch. I managed to dig out my floor stand, which is making it easier. This is from February's (that became mays) tonic studio kit. I did originally try using the holo paper, but after I die cut it, it started peeling off. Guess I should leave that as backing paper. I tried different oxide sprays, stamping with oxide pad, then adding dream drops. I forgot that you have to seal the oxides, so the colours leached into the drops.  These were inspired by a pinterest post. I'm trying to find ways to use all the beads I can, so theres plenty of pinterest research! Finally, here are the random photos I've taken this week.  Until next time Ems

Under the sea

I watched the little mermaid this week, and it inspired a piece. I started off by grabbing a deep frame, and gluing hexagons into the backboard. I added some texture pastes and art stones as well as some resin pieces, then painted it black. I then went to town on sprays, using lindys and distress oxides until I was happy. I had left the resin pieces black, so used wax to colour these. I  finished off by using nuvo dream drops, which took on the colour of the spray below for a cool metallic effect. I've also made some beaded bracelets, and worked on the winter village stitch.  Progress is annoyingly slow! Sorry about the poor lighting. I'm still trying to use up some of my stash, so there will be more jewellery posts.  Finally, here are this weeks random posts.  The ludicrousness of my hand in a hair dye glove.  Tried out the colorista spectrum noir pens and glitter pad I recieved in the grab bag. Not bad, and I can use

Cherries

Almost a week into the spending challenge and how am I doing? Not bad actually. I've spent, but it's all been on either bills or food. I've not been tempted to buy anything, although I'm slightly annoyed that my tonic craft box has not arrived yet. It would be a good distraction! Unfortunately, my creativity is at a low ebb at the moment, which is annoying as hell. Still, I have made a few things, using pinterest as inspiration. These earrings look better when they are dangling but its bloody impossible to take a pic of them! I've still got so much in the way of jewellery making supplies, but it's the arranging of them into an aesthetically pleasing piece that I have trouble with! I've also been working on the stitch. Heres the update.  It's coming together! I've joined a dimensions group on facebook, and I'm in awe of how quick some people complete a project.  Also, here are the random pics taken this week.
