Cards

I made a few birthday cards earlier this week, using inspiration from Pinterest. The first is a shaker card, based on  This . I didn't have any foam pads, so used some cardboard. I got a few sequins scattered on the floor, but it worked in the end.  The second is a dinosaur card, using some tim holtz dies and oxide sprays. It didn't quite work out in terms of sizing, so I used some gems on the side.  Here is the update on the stitch. It's slow going, as I've hurt my lower back.  Until next time Ems

Using up your stash

I'm still trying to stick to the no craft buying, with relative success. Only thing I have bought is resin plaster, because I had run out of white resin, which is quite expensive.  This week I finished a tag. I sprayed it with green lindy sprays, then added a frame, which had been stencilled with crackle paste and sprayed with oxide sprays. In the centre of this frame I used a tonic die to give a trellis quality. I then used a wing embosslit on a paper doll. I added some metallic flowers that had been painted, some gems, and some resin birds and flowers. I also added a sentiment. I've also been working on the stitch. Progress has slower cos I have hurt my shoulder. The new thing i was trying last week has not panned out. Annoying, but not the end of the world. Until next time Ems

Elegance

Now I am the last person in the world that could be considered elegant, but I tried my hand at some simple elegant jewellery this week, a bracelet and earrings. I used some silver chain I had for the bracelet, and as I had a little spare that would not have been useful to me, I made some matching drop earrings.  I've also been working on the stitch, finishing page 5 this morning.  Definitely not starting page six today cos my fingers are sore! I'm trying my hand at something new today, which I will hopefully put up next time if irs successful  Ems

Colouring

I tried my hand at colouring this week. Some people are amazing at it, but I'm not quite there yet. Actually I'm nowhere near, but at least I tried!  This was also an attempt to do something a little different with layout, rather than just one colour card. Its simple, but it works.  I've also been working on the stitch.  I thought this page would come along quicker than it is, but I guess I want to make sure I don't get it wrong! A stray colour on a jumper doesn't matter as much as it does on someone's head.  Until next time Ems
