Black heart

As I said last week, I wanted to do a different theme for the other side of my heart so that's what i have done this week. Before That, here is the update on the stitch. As you can see it's almost finished! Just the back stitch to do now and it's done. I sort of wish I had managed to finish it today cos I got it as a leaving present from William hill, and my old shop is shutting for the last time today. With the second side of the heart I wanted to use some blitz ephemera. I started by doing pva crackle technique with gold paint, then added strips of black lace. I coloured some curls with poutine gold squirt, and resin pieces with either wax or paint. I decided to add a clock to represent time, roses for Britain, and stars and moon to represent the night. So that's the heart completed, and it's almost the end of the month so almost time for a new challenge. This month of thinking positive has gone well for the most part. I had training at work recently,

I'm a female at heart

I've made a few things this week, one of them linked to the title, which I will explain later. First of all, here is the update on the cross stitch. I've also made another necklace, using peanut beads. I got a lot of peanut beads in the beads direct grab bags and didn't know what to do with them. I think this is the first time I've used them! I bought a metal heart from a charity shop for a quid the other day, and decided to do each half a different theme. I've only done one side so far, so hopefully I will post that one next week. For this side I started off by adding felt cogs then painting with white gesso, before spraying with green Lindy sprays. I then added a few squirts of purple spray. I looked through my stash and found some suffragette material, which I thought would fit the green and purple perfectly. I used a Tim holtz grungeboard swirl and doll both sprayed purple, and painted a resin cameo to match. The swirl was the base, followed by some twine

Oh my god I'm back again

See I'm saying that title as it's the first line (ish) of a bsb song but I can just imagine you lot rolling your eyes and saying oh my god she's back! Back from the New forest, which is a lovely place and definitely somewhere I'd visit again. I've only had one day not travelling or at work, but I've managed to make a couple of necklaces. At the moment I'm trying to destash a little, so I'm using up what I've got. I love the beads direct grab bags and wish they'd do them again, but I've got a few beads I have no idea what to do with, so I'm trying to remedy that. It's a good way to test my design skills as well, and there's always Pinterest for inspiration.  As always, here is the update on the stitch. Not sure I will finish it this year but I'm gonna give it a damn good try.  This months task is trying to turn negative into positive, and being more grateful. I won't lie, I have found this hard at times b
