stencils

Stencils are something I have a lot of, but something I rarely use. This week, i decided to use a stencil as the focal point of a card.  This was a set of matching spellbinder stencils, with a spellbinders sentiment die, a bow die from my stash (think it was a magazine freebie back when I still used to get magazines) and lawn fawn paper.  Stitch update: Ran out of the current thread as well. Ridiculous really. I think because I ordered the thread and the guide separately, I probably ordered the wrong size until next time Ems

Umbrella, hey.

Made a few things this week. First of all, here is the stitch update.  I have also made a pair of mushroom earrings.  Finally, I have altered a hexagon box. I started by choosing which moulds to add, then painted it with black gesso, then sprayed it with a mixture of distress oxide and Lindys sprays. I added a bit of wax to define the details, then added some melange art pebbles.  Until next time Ems

cross stitch crazy

I have been on a low creatively this week, so I thought I would share the mini stitches I have been making. Royal horticultural society has a 12 month pack of mini stitches, each marking the flower of the month. Obviously, I am halfway through.  They are backwards, so top one is June, bottom is January. It has been a while since I have done back stitch. Also, you forget how hard a small stitch can be! Back to the bigger stitch, here is the update  With any luck, I will be finished before the end of October.  until next time  Ems
