Dragonfly

I've made a necklace this week. I'm simultaneously trying to reduce my stash and buying new stuff (resulting in a bigger stash obviously -damn you country view craft sale!).  I tried my hand at wire wrapping. Not perfect, but at least it worked.  I've also been working on my cross stitch. Two and a half pages in now.  At least I'm back on track with it now.  Until next time  Ems

Fresh baked

No, I've not had another afternoon tea. I've been using the fresh baked dies, something I've had in my stash for a long time and never used. I decided to make them a bit glittery, in lieu of using a glaze to make it seem like icing. All of the coloured papers are tonic. I also used nuvo drops on the snowflake and heart.  I've managed to unpick the cross stitch page, and started work on a different one. Here is the update.  Here are the random photos I've taken this week. The hedgehog and flowers are in Truro, which I went to yesterday. First time I've been out of Newquay in five months.  Until next time Ems

Frustration and cream teas.

Not a great week creatively again. I have made a Christmas card and a birthday card though. The birthday card is for a 50th birthday, so I used the die set from my first tonic kit, with gold sequins for a golden anniversary vibe. The Christmas card uses stamps from a magazine, as well as Tim holtz christmas paper.  This won't be the only Christmas design this year, as I only had five of these cards. Usually I turn to cross stitch when my creativity is low, but last night I realised the page I was working on this week has to be unpicked entirely. Its my fault, I misread and thought the two greyed out columns did not have to be stitched, but its a waste of a lot of thread, and a hell of a lot of time, so no updates this week.  I did have one sublime experience this week, an afternoon tea from yumii patisserie in Newquay. Amazing cakes, well worth the money, and I will be going again! Here are some cake photos for your viewing pleasure. Hint, if you go, make sure you get the scones a

How to fix something

This week I got my new tonic kit and tried it out. Ended up standing on a die and bending it, and my big shot is obviously on it's way out cos the intricate die wasnt cutting properly. So flowers to the rescue!  Slight problems aside, I love this die. Probably my favourite tonic studios kit so far.  I've paused my winter village stitch, as I'm working on a Christmas present. Heres my progress.  First page almost finished!  Next week there will be more on here, but for now, here are the photos taken this week.  Until next time Ems

Leaf me alone

Not been feeling very sociable recently. Actually, I haven't for decades now, but the pandemic has meant I dont even really want to leave the house. My mental health issues are relatively minor compared to others, so my thoughts are with anyone suffering during these tumultuous times.  Not much creatively this week I'm afraid. I did make a necklace yesterday, and I have been working on the christmas village stitch, as well as starting a new one which will be a Christmas present.  This is the first random pic of August.  I swear there is some stitching there, it's just white! Anyway, I'm gonna make a concerted effort to list things to make, so that I dont get to my days off and no nothing.  Until next time  Ems
