Scrabble

I've never played scrabble in my life, but for some reason I've got some scrabble tiles. OK, I know why I've got them, they're good for crafting! This is a shadow box frame, with a scrabble family.  I've also fallen back on my jewellery making, doing a pair of earrings  Stitch updates. Technically there are two, cos I've completed one I haven't been posting progress on. Here's the update on the jack stitch. Progress has been a little better cos I've been using the app pattern keeper, which is ace.  Here's the completed one.  Until next time Ems

Hearts and flowers

Still on the jewellery kick at the moment. I've tried doing a bit of card making but my back protested, and the last thing I need is to go off sick again. Before I post my makes, here's the update on the stitch.  Back still must be bad when I haven't finished a single page yet!  I've made a pair of vintage style earrings, for once not using silver.  I've also made a necklace, using a swarovski heart pendant, a clay flower, silver chain and some pearls and crystals.  Again, I think this plays into the vintage vibe.  Until next time Ems

Masks

Short post today. I'm back at work, so I've not had much time to do crafting and to be honest, I'm in too much pain after a full shift to do anything anyway. I have managed to make a bracelet, using a multiconnector, chain, beads and a mask charm I've also worked on the stitch a little Until next time Ems

Almost there

Feeling more like myself now at least. Still not quite there, but at least I can walk a bit now.  I've made a few things, sticking to jewellery as it doesn't take much time.  I've also managed to do a bit of stitching. Here's the update  Until next time Ems

Recovering

What's really annoying about being incapacitated is that, when you are used to daily crafting, you get annoyed when you can't do it. I can usually stitch for hours, but I've barely been able to do anything. I've been out of the house a handful of times in the last three weeks, mainly out of necessity and using taxis. On Wednesday I was able to walk down the hill from the drs to the supermarket, but that was with the aid of my mother's walker. I feel like I'm 80, when I'm not even 40. Look after your back, because it sucks when it goes wrong.  I've been able to do a little bit of stitching, so here's the update.  I've also managed to make some jewellery. Papercrafting and mixed media are not really an option at the moment, because I can't sit at my desk for long.  Until next time Ems

Fed up

Haven't been able to do much cos of the sciatica. I tried stitching yesterday, but the pain in my leg was not worth the handful of stitches I did. I did manage to make a few things.  These are earrings, made with acrylic flowers that I recycled from an old piece I didn't like anymore, as well as crystal and spacer beads.  Simple bracelet, made with square beads and rose gold eye pins  A birthday card. I've had these Wallace and gromit stamps for a while, and had a tattered lace rocket die and tim holtz moon stencil, so decided to combine them. Until next time, hopefully with progress on the stitch! Ems

Ow!

My sciatica is back, bringing with it immense pain and practical immobility, so crafting is on hold for now. Before it happened, I did manage to do a few things.  First not crafting per se, but I managed to frame my favourite cross stitches and put them up.  That sewing room stitch was one of my first ones!  I've also worked on the stitch. Here's the update I made a pair of earrings, using donut beads and tim holtz spiders.  Finally, I made a mixed media piece, using a heart base, resin pieces, paints and waxes, flowers, and tim holtz saying. The base was painted with tim holtz distress paints, then a stencil used with platinum embossing powder.  Until next time, hopefully with a better back! Ems
