Raindrops keep falling on my head...

The best laid plans....

Haven't been as productive as I'd like to have been this week. In fact, haven't really been productive at all so far, not all of that my fault. Still, I have a couple of days left so I still have a chance. I'm feeling stressed today. Constant promotion (and lacklustre sales) of my book is getting me down and sapping my strength. I'm having one of those days when I wish I had never written it.

Anyway, me moaning about my life is not why people come to this blog. So I'll share one thing that I have done this week, the other half of my tag. As I've said before, I have three double sided tags to do, each one with a certain paper. The first was Madame Payraud, the second one is a Docraft clocks one (not sure what it is called) So here is the second half of that tag.

I used hot air balloon backgrounds (blue and grey) cutting out some of the grey ones to layer over the blue. I then cut out the umbrella man three times, once in chipboard, once in an orange colour paper, and once in a beige colour. I inked the handle gold on the chipboard, then used the orange for the umbrella and the beige for the man. I stuck a bicycle on the side (not sure why but it works so who cares) and then got some grungeboard letters that spelt out raindrop, inked it with broken china, stickled it with shattered glass, then glossy accented it. Then glossy accented it again when my cat decided to jump on it.

So that's one thing. There is something else I've been working on but only the exterior is finished so I want to wait until the interior is too. I'm going to work on more tags tonight.

Spending wise, the only thing I've done since payday is spend £11.27 on milkshakes, mushrooms, potatoes, a salad and two steaks. I was going to take my mum out for a meal this week but did this instead. Lovely meal, and a lot cheaper than it would have been in a restaurant.

What to do when you hit a wall?

Sorry guys, this is gonna be another pic-lite one. This is for two reasons. The first is because I decided to be a complete idiot the other day and crack my head open on the door at work, so I have to take things easy for a couple of days. The second is strange. I woke up the other day and it was as if someone had flipped a switch. All of the self-confidence that I had built up through my crafting over the last year has disappeared - just like that. I've spent the large majority of my life thinking that I am not good enough; in what I do, what I say, in short, in who I am. With crafts I was finally starting to believe in myself. So it is very hard at the moment, as I feel that I am right back at square one. I am hoping that this is temporary, and that I will soon feel myself again. I have to remind myself that I am very early in my crafting journey, and there are bound to be bumps along the way. I am aware that it is probably linked to my current state of high anxiety, as susta...

Altering again!

My craft mojo came back! I decided to treat myself the other day to a new paper pad, and chose G45 Steampunk Spells. Graphic 45 papers are expensive but boy are they worth it! I wish I'd got into them sooner as there are some older pads that are gorgeous, but unavailable now. Anyway, once I got the pad and overcame the urge to just admire the paper and do nothing with it, I got to work. I decided to try to make something to enter into a couple of challenges, namely the  Craft room something old, something new challenge  and  That's Crafty! Girl power challenge . The first thing to do was to decide what to make. I was going to do a card, but then I found this: This was a cutlery drawer that a friend gave me. To be honest I have been using it to store sharpies in, but no more. Here it is now: What a change! I started by painting it in black acrylic, then got to work on each section. I used the Clockworks paper for the background, cut out some cloc...

Carry on my wayward son

So get this, yesterday was the 20th anniversary of supernatural starting, so this week I've decided to make something supernatural themed. I had some 3d resin printed figures of sam, dean, castiel, bobby and crowley that I bought on etsy, and some gumball machines I got from vinted. I don't know why, I've always wanted to alter a gumball machine! I painted everything with black gesso, and used prima art stones to give the machine some texture. I also added some chain links to the top.  I then used silver wax on the machine and figures. I used a cardboard disc covered in cheesecloth so I could glue sam and dean on the inside, and added castiel to the top, and bobby and crowley at the bottom. Finally, I added a lamp on the inside and some skulls where the gumballs usually come out.  I love this so much! And amazingly I got over 1000 likes on fb for it. I'd love to do a pirates one if  could find some decent figures.  I've also been working on the stitch, about 10 days...
