Boxes!

Why is it that some weeks I have too much time on my hands and a mind block creativity wise, and other weeks it's the opposite? This week has been a bit of an outlier. I've not only had some creative thoughts, but I've had the time to figure them out too!

First thing I made was a galaxy paper set of drawers. I've used these mini drawers before, but this was the first time I thought to take the knobs off! I've wanted to use paper before but never been able to. At least I know I can now.

The second one was a simple box. I started by digging through my resin pieces, to choose what I wanted for the lid. I've got a lot of resin pieces in my stash, so this took a while! Once chosen, I glued them on, coated them in black gesso, then in copper wax. Finally I added patina wax for an aged look.

I also made a pair of earrings. I've had these lucite flowers for a while, so I paired them up with multiconnector charms and silver leaves.

Finally, here is the update on the stitch.

Until next time

What to do when you hit a wall?

Sorry guys, this is gonna be another pic-lite one. This is for two reasons. The first is because I decided to be a complete idiot the other day and crack my head open on the door at work, so I have to take things easy for a couple of days. The second is strange. I woke up the other day and it was as if someone had flipped a switch. All of the self-confidence that I had built up through my crafting over the last year has disappeared - just like that. I've spent the large majority of my life thinking that I am not good enough; in what I do, what I say, in short, in who I am. With crafts I was finally starting to believe in myself. So it is very hard at the moment, as I feel that I am right back at square one. I am hoping that this is temporary, and that I will soon feel myself again. I have to remind myself that I am very early in my crafting journey, and there are bound to be bumps along the way. I am aware that it is probably linked to my current state of high anxiety, as susta...

Milestone birthday

Not mine, but an uncle, who turned 60 this week. I made a card using some tim holtz dies. I quite like the colours I used for the skull, gives him an aged quality.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the latest update  Still looks a bit of a mess at the bottom with no discernible images, but it'd getting closer to what it should be with every stitch.  Until next time Ems

Drawering a crowd

So, this week I've done something a little different. This is before... This is after.... Obviously there's two of them! These are my mums bedside drawers, which are over 30 years old and now have a new lease of life.  I've also been working on the stitch. 31% down now. Until next time Ems
