Stay at home

It might be feeling like this is an overreaction, and you might be feeling fed up, but please stay at home. The sooner we all do this, the sooner we get out the other side. Two thank you cards today. One uses glimmer paste through a visible image stencil, with an embossed vellum panel and die cut sentiment. The other uses tonic studios for and drop paisley layering die, with added drops and some flowers. The dot and drop die is great, cos it shows exactly where to put the drops. I've also been working on the stitch.  Only a few more colours till I finish the first page. Photos are few and far between this week, but here's a butterfly I tried to capture. That's capture a pic of not actually capture! Until next time Ems

Take pleasure in the small things.

I've made more thank you cards this week. 30 of them to be exact, in 3 designs. These ones are with galaxy Paper, stars thinlits die and a silver metallic backing. The stars really pop and fit perfectly with the galaxy paper. It's a die I bought ages ago and never used.  These ones are oxide ink backgrounds with flower silhouettes. This was inspired by Pinterest. I finished off by adding dome glitter dots.  These are my favourite so far. Heartbeat die in Tim holtz paper with blue background to represent the nhs. Also heartbeat die in metallic Paper, and paper dolls.  I've also been working on the stitch. I'm on the blended colours now which I hate! And here are some random April photos. Mainly flowers again. They make me happy.  This is Sox, who apparently decided he's now a plate.  This is the car park next to a health centre in town. I'm guessing it's for covid testing.  Until next tim...

Gratitude

It's hard to find things to be thankful for when there are so many things that we used to take for granted, that we are unable to do. But this is the most important time to give thanks, to be grateful for what we do have, and, when this is over, to appreciate things all the more. I decided this week to make some thank you cards. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them. I may send them off somewhere myself, or offer them to people who gave someone to thank. I got 100 card blanks in the post yesterday, so that's 100 thank you cards to do. Here are the first ones. Each batch of 10 will have a different design. For this one I used the Tim holtz destination die, with metallic Kraft paper for the globe and galaxy paper for the background. I also used Tim holtz paper for the background, Tim holtz words for the sentiment, crayons for the edging, and nuvo drops on the corner. I've also been working on the stitch.  I've taken some more pics this...

Trying to keep busy

As everyone else is, I'm trying to keep myself busy. I'm lucky cos I have extensive craft supplies! So here's what I've made this week. I started off by making a tag. First I coloured it with oxide sprays, then added some stamped background. The frame and sentiment are coloured with tonic glitter markers, and the red hearts on the photo frame are glitter drops. I used a white pen on the rain drops as it makes them pop, and finally I added some string and ribbon, and some cacti flowers. The second items are necklaces using items from my stash, namely silver findings and pearls.  This was made entirely using tonic studios items, aside from the flowers. This will be going to a soon to be 4 year old who has had her party cancelled due to covid19.  Finally here is the update on the stitch It's looking Good!  Until next time Ems
