Spring is in the air

I've had the whole week off but made surprisingly little. I guess my creativity is still at a low ebb, but its not completely gone. As I've said before, I'm trying my hardest this year to not buy craft stuff, at least until my stash has been depleted somewhat. Before I share what I've made this week, here is the stitch update.  Now onto the make. I've made a card this week, using two dies I've never used before, some vellum and wallpaper tim holtz stash, and distress oxide sprays as well as distress crayons, and transparent butterflies.  Until next time Ems

When you can't buy merchandise make your own!

I'm a long time supernatural fan, so am gutted that its over. I'm currently rewatching every episode (one a day) and decided to make a keyring using my stash.  As you can see, its dean themed. From left to right, you have pie (deans favourite food), rock salt (used with fire to burn bones), dean (duh), a squirrel (Crowleys nickname for dean), a cross, a watch (carry on), an angel wing, and a skull.  I've also been working on the stitch, so much I've hurt my hand. Must slow down! Until next time Ems

Sometimes simple is better

That goes for cards and life. Its as we grow older that we learn to appreciate the simpler aspects of life, appreciating what depreciating time we have left on this earth.  As for simpler cards, I made a card this week, using two colours of card, one tonic die and some vintage drops.  The drops on 'love' give it that little something extra i think.  Unsurprisingly, most of my work this week has been on my current stitch.  Until next time Ems

Hmmmm

I've realised how easy it is to fall into the trap of buying craft stuff, then not knowing what the hell to do with it. I think that's why I'm cross stitching a lot at the moment; there's a clear goal in mind there, and a pattern to follow. Perhaps I'm not as creative as I'd like to think I am.  I'm still trying to use things in my stash that I have barely used or not used at all. This week, I made a birthday card, using a tonic studios die, galaxy paper, and fairy drops.  I was not entirely happy with it at this point, so I die cut a flower for the blank space.  Here is the update on the stitch so far. Page one complete, seven to go! At least this is going well, although I did manage a first the other day. First time I've snapped a needle when stitching!  Until next time Ems
