Resin

I have a love hate relationship with resin. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't its a waste of hours of work, as you can't really salvage it. Still, this week I wanted to try layering a bit. I've learned from this that glitter is awesome in resin, but that blue alcohol ink turns purple for some reason. Here's some of my makes. You can also put pretty much anything in resin, which is quite cool.  I've also been working on the stitch. Slow progress, as I'm alternating days with the secret one.  Look, arms! Hopefully next week there will be some makes. Ems

Sweets for the sweet

I've been pinteresting this week (is that would we call it?) and I've made a few things inspired by posts I found.  These were made using flower beads and crackle beads. I was only going to do one sweet per earring but for some reason I used eye pins instead of head pins! I think it looks better with two sweets anyway.  This was inspired by a pandahall make. I used different style beads entirely, and I think it makes it quite vintage looking.  I've also been working on the stitch. I'm halfway through now! There will be a slow down in progress with this though, cos I will be simultaneously working on a secret project that I cannot post on here.  Until next time Ems

This is halloween

I dont really do Halloween stuff often, but I got some new moulds the other day, so I couldn't resist making a tag.  I started off by adding cogs to a wooden tag, adding stone effect paste then spraying with distress oxides. I had black resin skull and frame, so used metallic wax on those, and added a background on the frame before adding the skull. These skulls are awesome btw. I then added some cogs and flowers to the frame, as well as a door handle and key. Finally I added a quote.  I've also made some jewellery this week. Sorry for the poor pic on the multi strand necklace but they are really hard to photograph! The obvious thing would have been to make a pair of earrings with the cat moon charms but I wanted to do something different.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the update so far.  Not long till I get to do more than the background again! Until next time Ems

Autumnal scenes

It's been a busy weekend! My little brother got married yesterday, and the venue was stunning. I won't post any pics of the wedding itself, but I will post some of the venue  So, with that in mind, I decided to dig through my stash to make a necklace with an autumnal theme.  Here's the update on the stitch.  Until next time Ems

Sparkles!

Yeah im not a glittery person by any means, but I have a lot of glitter and sequins thanks to tonic craft kits. So, combine that with a lawn fawn stamp and here you go! Thanks to lawn fawn blog for the inspiration.  I ended up putting sparkles a little too far to the right, but luckily I had the perfect colour flowers in my stash! I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the latest update Until next time Ems
