I sea what you did there

Why do I do pun based titles? Some poor attempt at humour I suppose. It's like a dad joke, or worse still, a cracker one. Anyway, I didn't get to finish what I mentioned in last week's post, but I did make some jewelery, so onto the makes! First the stitch. Page 3 finished as usual can see, and a good start on page 4.  A simple bracelet. I quite like using a little bit of chain rather than just beads. It means if I ever decide to gift something (I don't really have the confidence in my work to do that presently) I can easily swap out or extend the chain to fit the recipient I wanted to do a frosted glass bead bracelet, and a sea theme is perfect for this.  Until next time Ems

Wilting

It's too hot! Yes I'm one of those annoying people who complain about the heat. I love the extra hours of light, but not the unbearable heat.  Anyway, on to the makes. It'll be a short post this week.  The one thing I should have done with the necklace is take out the dark green bead in the centre, but I hadn't planned on adding the heart. I didn't even remember I had it to be honest, but it fits perfectly with the necklace.  Here is the update on the stitch. Almost finished page 3! I have been working on something else, but its nowhere near finished yet. Hopefully next week. Until next time Ems

Busy week

I'm in a place where covid numbers are slightly worrying, and I'm not double jabbed, so I didn't really want to go anywhere when I had this week off. Judge me if you want to, its ultimately my choice. So, instead I used this week to make stuff! This is a tag, using almost exclusively tim holtz ephemera. I've got a ridiculous amount of this, but sometimes it's difficult to figure out how to use it. The only things not tim holtz are the wooden fence, and the bows, which have also been in my stash since the dawn of time.  This is an altoid tin. The outside has resin shells, sprayed with distress oxide and coated with vintage silk wax. The inside lid has been sprayed with oxides, then a resin seahorse has been added, as well as calico craft parts (check the tiny diver). The lighthouse is a resin piece, with art stones added to the base where it didn't meet the bottom. Calico craft parts have been added. I wanted to make these more of a stormy feel, rather than a typ

Please do not adjust your set...

This week I decided to make my little brothers birthday card. He's a big marvel fan, and with the new tim holtz retro tv die, I decided to do this years based on wandavision.  As you can see, I've gone for the early black and white episodes, making the room black and white while emphasising there's a technicolour world beyond those walls. I've also been working on the stitch. Finished page 2. Only 14 pages to go! Until next time  Ems
