I have made a set of mixed media coasters today, using moulds, paper clay, waxes, tim holtz papers and film strips.  I did try using metallic flakes, but i didn't like how they worked or how they looked when I eventually did manage to do it. I have also been working on the  stitch. Almost finished! Until next time Ems

I prefer to use epoxy resin, but sometimes uv resin is the way to go. Like this week, when I finally tried the uv bubble technique. For those who don't know, you use soap bubbles on wet uv resin and then use a uv lamp to pop the bubbles and dry the resin, leaving a bubbly impression in the resin. You then use mica powder on it, and back it with black.  I have used this mica powder before, but  not with the black backing. Crafting is not perfect, and mistakes are (regularly) made. It is a learning process. So, in the spirit of learning, here is the mistake I made this week. I wanted to do some dirty pours with the last of my resin. The mistake? Using a mixture of tints and mica powders. cos mica powders are heavier, so they sank through the tints in the mould.  As you can see, the gold has overpowered everything. They still look good, just not the image I had in mind.  Here is the update on the stitch Until next time Ems

I made another card this week, trying to use some of the things i have rarely used, if ever.  This was made with the inner part of a tonic studio die (the rest is huge so god knows what I would use it for) some paper i had in my stash, tattered floral die and some wooden birds to finish it off.  Here is the update on the stitch.  Still a fair way to go, probably around 40 days at my current speed.  Until next time Ems

I decided to use some of my stash this week for a card, things ive not used in a while.  I have also been working on the stitch. Until next time Ems

I wanted to use something in my stash that I have not used before, and I had an anniversary card to do. 5th anniversary is wood, so I used tim holtz woodgrain stencil and heartbeat die, and lawn fawn paper pad and porcupine stamps to whip up this card. The gold drops are tonic nuvo drops, and the love sentiment was in my stash.  I have also been working on the stitch,  here is the update.  Until next time Ems

Before I start on this weeks makes, here is the stitch update. I reckon I am just about two months away from finishing.  I decided to make some keyrings for the office christmas presents this year. I had some wooden pendants as a base. I was going to do polymer clay as the background, but a bit of research turned up that you can't bake the wooden pendants, so instead I used sand and moss in resin. I added small clay pieces (baked separately) and then added a final layer of resin.  Until next time Ems

I had resin beads that sort of looked like honey, as well as flower beads and bee charms. I would have added more flowers, but it is really difficult to put them on there! I made a trio of earring sets this week, using flower beads.  It was surprisingly hard to put that initial jump ring in each flower!  I have also been working on the stitch. Its definitely coming together. Should be done before the end of October, then onto the next one! Until next time Ems
