Woodn't you know

Not much done this week. I'm in the middle of two projects, so hopefully they, or at least one of them, will be on here next week.  Here are some earrings I made, using a kit from Tiger.  I've also been working on the stitch.  Until next time Ems

I'm a wrapper

This week I have been attempting wire wrapping, with varying degrees of success (or not.) Total beads had a great set to make herringbone earrings.  I could do with nylon wrapped pliers, but I'm trying to not buy things again, so they'll have to wait. The hardest part of these I find, is getting the wire on the bloody headpin in the first place!  I've also been working on the stitch. Here is the update Look, it's a bird!  Until next time Ems

Productive

So sometimes I actually make more in a week than usual. Case in point, this week I have made two cards, a tag, and some earrings. Before I get onto that, here is the progress on the stitch.  This one is slow going because I have to be careful of my back, so at the moment there's no way of telling what it is.  We will start with the earrings. Nice and simple, using shell discs and multi connector charms. Next, the tag. I decided to use a college riled embossing folder and tim holtz tiny text to make a noticeboard, adding flowers, stars, and scrabble tiles. The message is from stoic philosophy, and particularly important to me when I'm feeling anxious. Now onto the two cards. One was using tim holtz big top stamps. I used the striped blue paper as it reminded me of a circus tent. I used tim holtz stars background die, and a blue holographic card behind.  The second was using stamps that came with a magazine. Creative stamping magazine is great, and this was inspired by one ...

Flowers

I have had load of silver flowers in my jewellery stash forever, unused because I had no idea what to do with them. Don't get me wrong, it's easy to think of designs with them, but the damn things are so fiddly, they slip out of jump rings. This week I decided to try to use head pins instead, thinking that they might end up with less of a gap. It worked! I made a bracelet with the flower pieces and some pearls.  I've also been working on the new stitch. It's going slow, purely because I have realised I am not young anymore, and cannot sit for hours in the same position while stitching, especially when I have a desk job.  It's gonna be a long time till you can see anything recognisable, but I'm ok with that.  Until next time Ems
