Thanks

Just a quick one this week, as despite having time off work, I've not really done much. Guess I needed a break after the book nook! Here's the update on the stitch.  Mum retired this week, and she wanted a thank you card for her colleagues. I used the axolotl lawn fawn stamps.  The background is distress oxide sprays, the sentiment is distress oxide pads blended onto lawn fawn stitched letters, with orange distress crayons outline. The stamps have been coloured using spectrum noir pens. There was a third but I mucked up the colours.  Until next time Ems

Book nook

Picture heavy post this week. Before the main feature, here's the update on the stitch.  Now onto the main event. I bought some book nook kits from craft box, and they arrived the other day so I got cracking! I bought three, and did the village one first.  Part one was to add brickwork, by using an old tim holtz brick wall strip die out of foam, adding it to the house front, then painting it to make it look like brickwork, which utilised paints and antiquing fluid, and then painting and glossing the doors and windows.  Same thing here, with different coloured brickwork. You'll notice a sign and lantern, which were ju...

Anyone for drinks?

Short post this week, but lots of pictures. First of all, stitch update. Slow progress unfortunately. There's actually only a few colours to go on thus one, but a lot of ground to cover.  I've also made a number of earrings this week.  I'm working on something bigger now, which will take a while to complete. I may update as I go along, so look out for it in the coming weeks Ems

Just the tonic

I wanted to use some of the things I have not used before to make a card. With costs of just about everything rising soon, I need to get out of the mindset of frivolous spending. I'm not quite there yet!  I used tonic dies to make this card. The flower die came from a goody bag and I wasn't sure about them to start with, but they really work if you use the flower moulding tools.  I've also been working on the stitch. Look, you can see the start of a face!  Until next time Ems
