The Introverted Crafter

Well, it's almost New Year again (they move faster every year). First things first, here is what I got for Christmas this year.   A Jack Skellington funko pop   A Nightmare Before Christmas necklace As you can see, Funkos were the flavour of the month. Here are four more, all Sherlock themed.   Three Sherlocks (I already have two, but only one John!)   Supernatural the anime series. I'm interested to see how this is different from the series, though I wish both of the main actors had been able to record their voices for every episode. There are also a couple of books - physics and quantum biology. A bit of light reading!   A lovely notebook, just what I need for next years budget.   A Pandora bracelet. Total surprise. This is just a short post to say I'm putting everything crafty related on hold for the rest of the year until I finish the first page of the cross stitch. There will be one post at Christmas, reviewing the first Beadhaul box (can't review it till then as it's a present) and one reviewing my spending over the year (I still have one target to hit, which I should do this Friday) The good thing is it will give me some time to properly plan a new craft piece. It'll be card making again soon (birthdays etc) although not presents as I've made those already (shows being super organised is not always a good thing) So, here is where I am in the cross stitch now.   For those of you who haven't seen one of these before, it's a cross stitch chart. Each symbol represents a different colour. Well I managed to pull my finger out and finish the key holder. It started off as a white holder, same as the one I altered before. I started by gluing some gems onto the butterflies, then painted it all black, then gold. After that I distress embossed some of the butterflies. The wings and circle from a couple of posts ago were painted black then bronze, and distress embossed in the same way. Before I distress embossed the circle, I added a time piece so that it looks like a clock. I glued them together and attached to the holder. Finally, I cut some flowers out of Steampunk Spells paper, glued a filmstrip onto the holder, and glued the flowers, plus some paper flowers from my stash onto the strip, and attached a blue ribbon to hold it up.   As you can see, one of the hooks is bent. I could not bend it back! (certified weakling)   I like this cos it's got that steampunk vibe but the flowers give it a vital spark of colour.   Next week...

As some of you may know, I tried a mini nanowrimo lately. For those who don't know, this is where writers use the month of November to write as much as they can. The target for most is 50,000 but, as I've had months of writers block I just wanted to set myself the target of writing every day. I'm happy to say that I managed to do this, writing over 20,000 words. Now this does NOT mean I am anywhere near finishing either of my books, especially since annoyingly a third story has now popped into my head. I'm going to try my very best to get all three books finished in the next two years. I had been planning on working on my jewellery holder (which is now going to be a key holder) last week, but on my first day off work last week I had a phone call from work which kind of upset my week. I won't go into it as thankfully it's sorted now but it stressed me out no end. I've been having some weird dreams lately (think giant eating parts of celebrities and Hitler...
