Under the sea

I watched the little mermaid this week, and it inspired a piece. I started off by grabbing a deep frame, and gluing hexagons into the backboard. I added some texture pastes and art stones as well as some resin pieces, then painted it black. I then went to town on sprays, using lindys and distress oxides until I was happy. I had left the resin pieces black, so used wax to colour these. I  finished off by using nuvo dream drops, which took on the colour of the spray below for a cool metallic effect.

I've also made some beaded bracelets, and worked on the winter village stitch.

Progress is annoyingly slow!

Sorry about the poor lighting. I'm still trying to use up some of my stash, so there will be more jewellery posts.

Finally, here are this weeks random posts.

The ludicrousness of my hand in a hair dye glove.

Tried out the colorista spectrum noir pens and glitter pad I recieved in the grab bag. Not bad, and I can use my chameleon pens with the pad.

Until next time

Milestone birthday

Not mine, but an uncle, who turned 60 this week. I made a card using some tim holtz dies. I quite like the colours I used for the skull, gives him an aged quality.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the latest update  Still looks a bit of a mess at the bottom with no discernible images, but it'd getting closer to what it should be with every stitch.  Until next time Ems

What to do when you hit a wall?

Sorry guys, this is gonna be another pic-lite one. This is for two reasons. The first is because I decided to be a complete idiot the other day and crack my head open on the door at work, so I have to take things easy for a couple of days. The second is strange. I woke up the other day and it was as if someone had flipped a switch. All of the self-confidence that I had built up through my crafting over the last year has disappeared - just like that. I've spent the large majority of my life thinking that I am not good enough; in what I do, what I say, in short, in who I am. With crafts I was finally starting to believe in myself. So it is very hard at the moment, as I feel that I am right back at square one. I am hoping that this is temporary, and that I will soon feel myself again. I have to remind myself that I am very early in my crafting journey, and there are bound to be bumps along the way. I am aware that it is probably linked to my current state of high anxiety, as susta...

Drawering a crowd

So, this week I've done something a little different. This is before... This is after.... Obviously there's two of them! These are my mums bedside drawers, which are over 30 years old and now have a new lease of life.  I've also been working on the stitch. 31% down now. Until next time Ems
