Unfinished...

This week's task has not been completed, but has been started, so I am still counting it. The reason why it has not been finished is simple; after getting some bad news this week I did not feel inclined to complete it. The news has made me think though, of all the things that will remain unfinished after I am gone. The half completed cross stitches, the rough drafts of books. The craft projects I have still to do. Another reason to stop buying craft things, and be content with the things I have. Speaking of crafts... This was made with a few of the newer things in my stash. I started with a tag, using a wood grain stencil and texture paste, before spraying with Lindy's sprays. Makes a fantastic background. I then stamped and coloured a circus elephant, added a chit chat phrase, and then cut out some 3D stars.  I wanted to do a Christmas display that was almost like a window display. I had a spare 3D photo frame, so I covered the outside of it in a fest...

Wheely bad idea...

I've been productive again this week. Before I get onto my crafts, I want to share what came in the latest Beadhaul box. I'll be honest, I was a tad disappointed with this one. The theme was black out, which basically meant a load of black stones. The stuff is nice and all, and I like the little globes with the gems in, but the theming has been better in previous ones, and this was screaming out for a Halloween style box. Still, I am sure that I will be able to do something with them. Onto the crafts. I combined two dies this week; the Tim Holtz retro car one and the sizzix shadowbox. I used woodgrain paper for the outside, and cut an extra back in black so that the inside would pop more. The items inside are coloured with Lindy's sprays except for the car, the presents and the deer's antlers, which are coloured with embossing powder. The snow is flowersoft, and I cut an extra one of the trees in black so ...

Stitching of a different kind

I've been a bit more productive this week, at least at the beginning. The end of the week has not been great to be honest. Anxiety is high, and the side effects aren't appreciated by everyone. I'm working hard on curbing it though, but whether I am successful or not is another matter. Still, you never know if you don't try do you? I bought a planner for next year, to be a bit more organised than I have this year, and I hope to utilise it to monitor my good days, and my bad. Anyway, on to the crafting. I'll have to apologise for the bad pictures; the lack of lighting at this time of year is a nightmare for bloggers. First of all, the stitching. One thing I have noticed is that the supposed dark blue thread is about a shade darker than the normal blue, when on the picture it's a much darker shade. These are a couple of tealight candle holders. I saw this in a magazine, done with cityscape dies, so I dug my treeline dies out. These were cut out of bl...
