Hit a little snag

Well a few snags anyway. Namely, there are a few threads that i have run out of on my latest stitch, which is a bit of a surprise. Not to mention extremely frustrating. However, i contacted the company and they have been nice enough to send me some more, so hopefully by the time i need them they will have been delivered.

Before i get onto my update, i wanna share a piece of jewellery i made. I started off with some plastic flowers, and painted them with Prima Sparks paints, before finding a smaller plastic flower in a complimentary colour, and linking them together with an eye pin. I then added a bicone crystal to each flower in the centre. Next i got some gold rings and wound the eye pins around them, flattening the ends so they did not scratch. I linked each gold ring with jump rings, and added a clasp to the end.

It's a little difficult to get a decent picture of it, but it catches the light beautifully.

As mentioned before, here is the update on the stitch.

Only one page to go now! Then...onto the next photo stitch. At least once i have finished that i can go back to my poppies stitch.

I've put myself on a craft spending ban for the whole of July, as well as a fast food ban (so July is going to be fun(!) ) On the bright side, i bagged a massive bargain from the Create and Craft sale a couple of weeks ago. I have wanted the vintage Mickey dies for ages but could not justify the price. The sale meant i saved a whopping £280 on them! I've never had dies like this before, so i am working on paper piecing, rather than cutting one out of white card and colouring it, which i am not that great at. At the moment i am working on a steamboat willy style one, but rest assured for the next few years at least some Disney Christmas cards are coming your way!

Wish me luck on my ban!

Milestone birthday

Not mine, but an uncle, who turned 60 this week. I made a card using some tim holtz dies. I quite like the colours I used for the skull, gives him an aged quality.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the latest update  Still looks a bit of a mess at the bottom with no discernible images, but it'd getting closer to what it should be with every stitch.  Until next time Ems

What to do when you hit a wall?

Sorry guys, this is gonna be another pic-lite one. This is for two reasons. The first is because I decided to be a complete idiot the other day and crack my head open on the door at work, so I have to take things easy for a couple of days. The second is strange. I woke up the other day and it was as if someone had flipped a switch. All of the self-confidence that I had built up through my crafting over the last year has disappeared - just like that. I've spent the large majority of my life thinking that I am not good enough; in what I do, what I say, in short, in who I am. With crafts I was finally starting to believe in myself. So it is very hard at the moment, as I feel that I am right back at square one. I am hoping that this is temporary, and that I will soon feel myself again. I have to remind myself that I am very early in my crafting journey, and there are bound to be bumps along the way. I am aware that it is probably linked to my current state of high anxiety, as susta...

Drawering a crowd

So, this week I've done something a little different. This is before... This is after.... Obviously there's two of them! These are my mums bedside drawers, which are over 30 years old and now have a new lease of life.  I've also been working on the stitch. 31% down now. Until next time Ems
