More jewellery making

I decided to make some jewellery yesterday, after becoming a little unstuck lately with the papercraft. As stitching is on my mind a lot, having two major projects on the go at once, the other crafts tend to take a back seat sometimes. However, I got my findings out yesterday to have a little play, and this is what I came up with.
 
 
A pair of earrings with butterfly glass charms, and toadstools below.

 
Another pair of earrings, butterfly charms again, and a pair of silver keys.

 
Finally another pair, with the butterfly charms again, and some gold plated leaves. I like the fact that all you have to do is change the colour of the findings you use to make three totally different earrings.

 
A necklace. I was going for a shooting star thing here, which looks better in person than in the pics. I started off by threading some stars/gems onto head pins, and cutting them to different sizes. I then got an eye pin, threaded some metal beads on them, and put the head pins in between. I dug out an old chain and attached it to the eye pin (you'll notice the lobster clasp is at the bottom of the necklace rather than the top.)


Finally I made a cluster chain, using a Tim Holtz swivel clasp.

 
This section has the last butterfly charm, a key charm, and some gold beads.

 
This section has a ceramic star, a love spacer bead, and a lady bird (love bug!)

 
This section has some gold and silver beads, with two star charms at the end.

 
The final section was a fragment charm. I got some green paper, stamped it, inked the edges, added a small amount of stickles, then attached it to the fragment charm. Once dry I added the metal butterfly, which fell off a hairband years ago.

 
Here is the progress on the Middle Earth map so far. I was hoping to get at least two pages done before going back to the other stitch, but I'm not sure that's feasible now, so I will be happy with finishing one in it's entirety and doing as much of the second page as I can.

What to do when you hit a wall?

Sorry guys, this is gonna be another pic-lite one. This is for two reasons. The first is because I decided to be a complete idiot the other day and crack my head open on the door at work, so I have to take things easy for a couple of days. The second is strange. I woke up the other day and it was as if someone had flipped a switch. All of the self-confidence that I had built up through my crafting over the last year has disappeared - just like that. I've spent the large majority of my life thinking that I am not good enough; in what I do, what I say, in short, in who I am. With crafts I was finally starting to believe in myself. Altering again!

My craft mojo came back! I decided to treat myself the other day to a new paper pad, and chose G45 Steampunk Spells. Graphic 45 papers are expensive but boy are they worth it! I wish I'd got into them sooner as there are some older pads that are gorgeous, but unavailable now. Anyway, once I got the pad and overcame the urge to just admire the paper and do nothing with it, I got to work. I decided to try to make something to enter into a couple of challenges, namely the  Craft room something old, something new challenge  and  That's Crafty! Girl power challenge . The first thing to do was to decide what to make. I was going to do a card, but then I found this: This was a cutlery drawer that a friend gave me. If you leave me now...

A colleague left this week, ready to start her police office training, so I made a funny card for her. I found the definition on Pinterest, then decided to do my own line up for the inside.  I've also been working on the stitch. Here's the update.
